Open Gear Guard XP is designed to effectively lubricate open gears and chains subjected to heavy loads in dusty or dirty environments. It is a unique, thixotrophic lubricant blended with a solvent carrier that is easily applied by either spraying or brushing. Once applied, the carrier film evaporates leaving a tenacious, dry, wax-like film that minimizes the collection of abrasive dust and other airborne contaminants.
Open Gear Guard XP has excellent EP properties due to its formulation with Royal Purple's proprietary Synslide® additive technology and can effectively lubricate at temperatures up to 400° F. The solid lubricating film left after the solvent carrier evaporates consists of Calcium Carbonate and Calcium Sulfate, both of which are naturally occurring minerals.
Note: Caution -- Consult manufacturer for high temperature applications.
